The EUCO® Titan plant has been continuously developed since the company was founded in 1995. In the waste-operated version, the plant consists of EUCO® horizontal continuous flow fermenters and COCCUS® secondary fermenters, whose number and dimensions depend on the size.
The production of biogas from OFMSW has some differences compared to the production of biogas in the agricultural and livestock sector. In particular, pre-treatments are necessary to reduce the degree of impurity prior to entering the reactors. Downstream of the biogas plant, in order to transform the digestate into a soil conditioner that can be used directly in agriculture, it is necessary to provide a composting plant.
The main advantage of the combination of anaerobic digestion and composting is the lower olfactory impact: the degradation stages that produce most of the odours take place inside the fermenters, which are hermetically sealed.
This type of plant is available for the generation of electricity (starting at 300 kW) and for upgrading to biomethane, and is particularly suited for the OFMSW that originates from door-to-door collection or for waste that has an impurity content of less than 15%.
